Nestled against the Green Mountains, just below Rattlesnake Point, is Branbury State Park. The lake region is a most spectacular and pristine place to swim, bike, and run. Novice and advanced athletes alike marvel at the beauty of our courses and enjoy the mountains, lakes, and streams of Central Vermont.
Race Details
Registration / Bib Pick Up:
June: Between 6:45-7:45 am at Branbury State Park on race morning.
August: Between 6:30-7:45 am at Branbury State Park on race morning.
Detailed pre-race announcements will be emailed with your race confirmation. Final announcements at 7:45 am on race day in the transition area.
June 28th Race Time: The race starts at 8:00 am.
August 30th Race Time: The race starts at 8:30 am.

Important age group information: The age group of a participant will be determined by age on Dec. 31 of the event year, not by age on race day. For example, If you turn 25 years old in November, you will race and be ranked in the 25-29 age group for the entire season.

Triathlon Individual Age Groups: will be every 5 years: 10-14, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, etc., for men and women.
Relay Teams: 2 to 3-person teams. Relay teams pass the timing strap in the transition area.
Awards:
Triathlon-Top 3 overall male and female, top 3 five-year age groups
AquaBike-Top 3 overall male and female
Relay Teams– Top 3 overall
Non-Binary– Top 3 overall
Amenities: Included in your entry fee are: Professional digital photos, sports drinks, bagels, fresh fruit, cookies, custom awards to top 3 overall and top 3 in each age group, fully supported aid stations, sponsor samples, a safe course, and post-race refreshments.
We are excited to offer Massage ($1 per minute), custom Vermont Sun tech shirts (only $15 if ordered with online registration), and beautiful custom finisher Medals ($9.00 must be ordered 1 month in advance during pre-registration)
Food and Refreshments: Free to athletes at all events.
Branbury Admittance: Included in your entry fee. Spectators will be charged $5.00 for adults and $2.00 for children at the gate, payable by cash only. The fee is good for the entire day, so bring the family and enjoy the spectacular lake, beach, and mountain setting! Dogs are welcome, but must be on a leash and are not permitted on the beach.

Registration Transfer & Cancellation Policy
Cancellation Policy: All registrations are final. There are absolutely no refunds, and registrations cannot be transferred into a future race year.
How to Transfer: To initiate a transfer within the permitted timeline, please log into your RunSignUp account and manage your registration from your profile.
Current Season Limitation: Transfers are strictly permitted only within the current race season. Registration fees cannot be deferred or rolled over to future years.
Pricing and Discounts: If you choose to transfer your entry to another race in the current season, any promotional discounts or early-bird pricing applied to your original registration will be forfeited. You will be required to pay the current standard rate for the new event at the time of the transfer.
USAT Sanctioning & Day Passes: Per USA Triathlon (USAT) regulations, USAT one-day passes are non-transferable. If you purchased a day pass for your original race, it cannot be applied to your new registration. You will be required to purchase a new USAT day pass for the new event.
When weather conditions or other physical conditions present a danger to participants, Vermont Sun maintains the right to cancel the event. Less threatening conditions may cause alterations of the course or the post-awards ceremony to ensure participant, volunteer, and community safety. Such conditions fall under the label “Acts of God” and will not result in the refunding of any race entry fees or future event credits.

All event race dates are limited to 400 participants. Online registration is open until registration/Bib Pick-up closes on race day. Please register online before arriving at the venue, as WiFi access is not guaranteed. On-site registration will not be available at the park.
Rules:
All Vermont Sun Triathlons will be USAT-sanctioned and run by their official rules.
