The Vermont Sun triathlon series is in a class by itself. The triathlons offer a safe, well-organized opportunity for triathletes of all abilities to compete in a breath-taking setting in central Vermont. I have been competing in this series since 1997, and I build my racing season around these events because of the strong organization behind them, the experienced staff, and the triathlete-friendly atmosphere. Race Director Jerrod Rushton brings more than 15 years of experience to the table, and he sweats the details! The venue at Lake Dunmore offers a clean, clear lake swim and challenging, yet beautiful bike and run courses. The value for the entry fee is outstanding. I have competed in about 100 triathlons over the last 12 years, from local events to national and world championships, but the Vermont Sun races remain my favorites. The Half Vermont Journey offers a top late-season opportunity to test your fitness at a longer distance.
