Dear Vermont Sun Triathlon Series and Half Marathon participants,

We have to cancel our entire 35th season of races on Lake Dunmore. The State of Vermont and the Vermont Department of Parks have revoked our permits to stage the events due to the coronavirus.

All those that have entered an event this season will have their entries automatically transferred to next season, 2021.

Those dates are:

Half Marathon, 10K, 5K; Sunday, May 16
VT Sun and Lake Dunmore Triathlon (State Championships); Saturday, June 26th
VT Sun and Branbury Classic; Sunday, July 18th
VT Sun and Lake Dunmore Triathlon; Sunday, August 15th

For the last six weeks, we have been making contingency plans, to be able to safely operate, that included: online pre-race instructions, only bottled water, only packaged food, waves of just 10-20 athletes, masks worn for all pre and post-race activities, spaced out registration and chip pick up... In the end, all that didn't matter. The State made the decision that so many other events have already made, for us. No permits for gatherings over 10 people.

So for the first time in 35 years, there will be no racing on Lake Dunmore, devastating to us, devastating to all of you. Of course, not being able to participate in a race is nothing compared to the incredible misery and death that too many others are going through.

Remember the main reason you train is to enjoy all the benefits of this healthy lifestyle. The events make it more fun to have a goal to point to. Keep training, take care of your health and we look forward to seeing you next summer!

2020 Registration is open! All of our events are now USAT Sanctioned. Make it a family event and check out our new student pricing.

Branbury Admittance: Included in your entry fee. Spectators will be charged $4.00 for adults at the gate. Fee is good for the entire day so bring the family and enjoy the spectacular lake, beach, and mountain setting! Dogs are welcome, but must be on a leash and are not permitted on the beach.
